Birthday Punch

I've been gone for a couple days but that's only because I was planning and throwing a party. My son finally turned one. Anyway, I had to come up with a drink to match his Sesame Street theme. I had searched and searched the net to no avail.

I did remember that at my wedding *18 at the time and couldn't drink* the lady who was hosting made a punch from hawaiian punch. So I thought to myself...why not mix it up a bit!

So, I made COOKIE MONSTER PUNCH AND OSCAR PUNCH!

1 1/2 cups of pinapple juice *not from concentrate* chilled
8 cups of Berry Blue Typhoon OR GREEN BERRY RUSH Hawaiian Punch
4 cups of Ginger Ale or Sprite

***For any extra spike you can add just a bit of MINUTE MAID TROPICAL PUNCH****

I did let my pineapple juice chill in the fridge overnight. I find that pouring the punch first, then the pineapple juice and then the Ginger Ale is the best way to go.

**i didn't get any close up pictures but I did have this photo available. ****

How do you make your tea? MY SOUTHERN TOUCH

I live in South Carolina and every time a northern comes here and try how our tea is made the first remark is....IT'S TOO SWEET. Well, this is the south and we love our tea sweet and iced. Sweet tea goes great with ribs, hot dogs, hamburgers and fried chicken.

I always have a pitcher of tea in my fridge just in case guests come over. It's my friendly way of saying "i'm glad to have you here...here's my gift to you" lol.

SO HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR TEA?

Here's my recipe for those who want just a touch of southern in their homes for just a day.

I use

(1) LIPTON TEA BAG
(2 1/2 CUPS OF SUGAR
(2) TSP OF LEMON JUICE (OPTIONAL)

1. I FILL ONE MEDIUM SAUCEPAN WITH MAYBE TWO CUPS OF WATER. TURN THE STOVE TO HIGH,  PLACE TEA BAG IN WATER AND LET BOIL FOR 1 MINUTE...2 IF YOU LIKE TEA TO BE DARKER.

2. TAKE TEA OFF HEAT AND LET COOL FOR ABOUT 1 MINUTE. POUR TEA INTO PITCHER FOLLOWED BY YOUR CUP OF SUGAR. DROP YOUR TSP OF LEMON JUICE IN AFTER SUGAR

3. RUN COLD WATER AND STIR UNTIL PITCHER IS FILLED,

GRAB YOUR ICE CUBES...POUR YOUR TEA...AND ENJOY!!!

Burger King: DUTCH APPLE PIE REVIEW MOLDY PIE

Let me start this post out by saying this was a bad experience for me. I've eaten their dutch apple pie many times before and never encountered a problem so this might/might not happen to you.

MOLDY APPLE PIE!!!!

Because it's christmas eve I decided not to cook this evening just to save me my sanity for later on tonight. I decided to go to my local burger king which was open (thank goodness, if subway hadn't been closed I wouldn't even have to do this review) and partially crowded. I decided to go through the drive thru as always to save time. I ordered 2 double cheeseburgers, a 6 piece chicken nugget and the dutch apple pie.  My husband had one double cheeseburger and we split the nuggets in half.

I can admit my cheeseburgers were the best as always with them but my nuggets were cold and under cooked  Not the best in my opinion. I was upset with that but  I moved past that and was overjoyed to have a hot apple pie in my bag. It smelled awesome.

I was happy to dig in. My first bite was great I didn't think to look down but when I did.....this is what I saw.....

The piece from the bottom of the apple pie.

My husband thought I was overreacting when he heard me say I had mold in my pie until I showed it to him. I was beyond upset...I don't know if the whole pie is like that and clearly I don't care to know. It just comes to show you should always look at your food before taking a huge bite out of it. I hope I don't get sick.

AS I SAID BEFORE THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME THIS MAY OR MAY NOT HAPPEN TO YOU.. FROM NOW ON I WILL BE WATCHING WHAT I EAT.

FOOD REVIEW: Pizza hut STUFFED PIZZA ROLLERS

Like any other mom I didn't feel like cooking last night part of it being because I'm coming down with the flu. Mix that up with a busy little boy you get a non cooker. I had the brilliant idea to order pizza last  night from pizza hut which is a treat to me because I haven't eaten there in months. I found an offer *which I'll include a link later on in the post* to get free stuffed pizza rollers with my next ONLINE order. Like any other cheapskate mom I took total advantage of it. My order was a little on the pricey side but hey I got two free things and I'll be heating most of up tonight again 2 DAYS WITHOUT COOKING LOL!!

On to the review.....

As always my local pizza hut always get temperatures right when it comes to their food. I'm never disappointed with that. Some pizza huts tend to serve their food warm or have the tendency to let your food get cold before it comes to you but not this certain pizza hut.

The stuffed pizza rollers are rolled up in what tastes to me like pizza dough. Don't get me wrong that's a good thing for many reasons. One of them being, for four or five dollars you get four hefty rollers and that's your dinner or lunch. You don't even need a pizza.  Seriously, to be honest I don't know why Pizza hut are offering these things free.

Inside of the rollers are the perfect amount of pepperoni and the perfect amount of cheese. When I say these things are perfect take my word for it.  The best thing since sliced bread. If pizza hut keeps coming up with ideas like this I might not ever cook again.

Holiday BBQ MEATBALLS

I've looked online to find the original source of this recipe but couldn't. So if you know the original author of this recipe please email me so I can credit them.

This recipe was found after my search for meatballs that my auntie made. You can serve them by themselves or you can serve them with rice or mashed potatoes. Being the country girl that I am I always pair it with yellow rice.

1/4 cup of worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup of honey
1 cup of CATTLEMEN'S BBQ SAUCE *YELLOW KIND*
 20 FROZEN MEATBALLS

1) in a medium saucepan *with heat off* place meatballs worcestershire sauce, honey and cattlemen's bbq sauce and stir well

2) turn heat on medium continually stirring, cook for 20-30 minutes

3) let meatballs cool before serving them like any food it can be extremely hot

If you have any improvements I'm open to discussion please leave in the comment section below!!!

ChoBani Greek Yogurt Mango!

Have you ever found yourself wondering down the yogurt aisle and just wanting to go yogurt crazy? With all the many different flavors and brands that sound so yummy. This is the one reason I hate  visiting my local walmart there are always many temptations.  I find myself with a new obsession that being GREEK YOGURT. Maybe, it was all those commercials that made it seem like greek yogurt was just pure heaven. To be honest with you...the right brand...and the right time...it could be pure heaven.

I so happened to be visiting wal-mart the other day when I stumbled upon Chobani.  I haven't heard of the company and didn't do my research before buying (impulse buying at wal-mart don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about.)  Anyway, I picked up the 16oz tub which only ran me $2.62 in the mango flavor. In future posts you will KNOW that I'm a mango nut. Anything with mango in it is in my house!

On to my review!!!

When I opened up the tub of chobani I thought that I had picked up whipped cream. It was just so thick. On first opening it I dived right in without stirring...please on my WORD DON'T DO THAT. STIR IT UP!!!! I say that because it had a texture that was a little unsettling to me. After stirring it up I  noticed some pleasant little surprises in it!!! One is that it tastes way better stirred and two is that it had   ACTUAL MANGO!!  To me it was like finding candy in your lunchbox being in grade school. Overall, after stirring it chobani lived up to my $2.62 expectations in a good way. I can see using this yogurt in a smoothie or in some other crazy recipe that I haven't came up with yet.

To me Chobani is one of those companies that hasn't gotten a lot of press but in a few years or months they'll be one of those companies that we'll never get tired of.
